Gideon Amevinya holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Ghana. He is currently a Master of Public Health candidate at the same University. His master’s dissertation examines food advertising at the University of Ghana – Ghana’s premier and largest University. Prior to his enrollment on the master’s program, Gideon worked as a Research Assistant on a number of projects including the “Dietary Transition in Ghanaian Cities”, “Community Based Hypertension Improvement Project” and “Assessment of food security and vulnerability of HIV-affected households in Ghana”. He presently works with House of Mentoring and Research Resources (HM2R) as a Research Assistant. Gideon is an early Career Researcher/Graduate Student with broad research interests in food environment and Non-Communicable diseases.
